Procedures for Residents in obtaining Street Lights:
If you want to add a street light in your neighborhood, or want to have one removed, the residents in your neighborhood (over 50%) will have to petition for the change.
The petition has to be presented to your City Councilperson, who will pass the petition on to the Street Light Committee for review.
The Committee will then ask RP&L to provide them with a design and an estimated cost for the change.
The Street Light Committee will review this information, and if approved, it is passed on to the Board of Public Works and Safety for final review and approval.
