Basic
Dough:
½ lb unsalted butter, room temp.
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
¼ tsp salt
1 TBS baking soda
3 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla
Optional Ingredients:
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup your favorite nuts
1 cup dried cherries
1 cup M&M's
1 cup raisins
1 cup of anything other dry ingredient that you like.
This recipe
is neat because you can make it as versatile as you want. First,
you make the basic cookie dough. Then you add 2 cups of any other
ingredient that you like - just make sure it's equal to 2 cups.
You can use 2 or more ingredients, adjusting them to equal 2 cups.
The neatest
thing is that you can also divide the dough in half and make 2 different
kinds of cookies from the same batch. If you divide the dough, then
you would only add 1 cup of dry ingredients to each half.
Mix all the
ingredients for the cookie dough. Then add your favorite dried ingredients.
Using a 1 oz. scoop, drop the balls onto a cookie sheet that has
been sprayed or oiled.
Bake at 350
degrees about 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown (oven temperatures
vary).
