December 17, 2009

Our customers will see approximately a 6% decrease in rates for the beginning of 2010. This comesafter a rather turbulent 2008 and 2009. Some factors contributing to the ease in rates are; the overall demand for electricity has been steadily falling, we are purchasing less coal, and the wholesale price for the electricity that we pay has fallen as well. This is good news for all of our customers for the beginning of 2010. This price decrease will affect all customer segments.
In light of the decrease, the economic condition of our economy is still a time for customers to practice sound energy efficiency management in their homes and businesses. We still encourage customers to use solid conservation techniques and purchase energy efficient products to save money each month.
We have proudly served the Richmond community since 1902. We maintain a commitment to our customers to serve them in the most cost effective and environmentally responsible way possible.
