Our Board of Directors has approved our entry into the production
of "Green Power" or "Renewable Energy".
Renewable Energy is energy from any source that can be maintained
in a constant supply over time. In contrast, the supply of
fossil energy sources such as oil, natural gas or coal is
limited.
We have proposed a partnership with the Richmond Sanitation
District at the New Paris Pike Landfill to generate electricity
using the methane gas, which is a natural microbial process
at all landfills (Biomass energy). Although the technology
is not new, the concept is new to this region. The commonly
used acronym for this technology is LFGTE (Landfill Gas to
Electricity). The methane gas would essentially become the
fuel source of the generators used to produce electricity.
We are enthusiastic about this project and it is our hope
that our customers will share our enthusiasm for providing
"renewable energy" to the Richmond Community. The
electricity produced would be called Earth EnergySM.
